wireless technologies (article)

in telecommunications, wireless communication may be used to transfer information over short distances (a few meters as in television remote control) or long distances (thousands or millions of kilometers for radio communications). The term is often shortened to "wireless". It encompasses various types of fixed, mobile, and portable two-way radios, cellular telephones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and wireless networking. Other examples of wireless technology include GPS units, garage door openers and or garage doors, wireless computer mice, keyboards and headsets, satellite television and cordless telephones.

Wireless device refers to those equipments in which electromagnetic waves (rather than some form of wire) carry the signal over part or the entire communication path. In this technology information is transferred over a long distances without using wires.

in order to join a wireless LAN (WLAN), a computer must have a wireless network card or adapter installed. A network card is an internal wireless device manufactured to use the same language or protocol that wireless routers use. These protocols periodically evolve into new standards, however, causing compatibility issues in the interim. If a router uses a protocol that is not supported by an internal wireless device, an external wireless adapter can be used in an external port. The most common type is a USB dongle, but wireless network adapters are also available in ExpressCard® formats, giving laptop users a choice as to which port they would rather use.

A wireless device is anything that can transmit signals using an internal radio, such as cellular phones, laptops, wireless cards and wireless routers. Find out how wireless devices function with information from a certifiedcomputer technician in this free video on computers.

web 2.0 (article)

hai, welcome to my second articles that include about subject MGT417 :),today i would like to gift to you some information about web 2.0..
web 2.0 is associated with web applications that facilitate participatory nformation sharinginteroperability, user-centered design and collaboration on the World Wide Web. A Web 2.0 site allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators (prosumers) of user-generated content in a virtual community, in contrast to websites where users (consumers) are limited to the passive viewing of content that was created for them. Examples of Web 2.0 include social networking sites, blogs, wikis, video sharing sites, hosted services, web applications, mashups and folksonomies.

web 2.0 information technologies and applications

AJAX

AJAX stands for asynchronous Javascript And XML..AJAX simply means that the web page can be more responsive and act more like an application without always requiring us to click on links and reload the page.AJAX is one of the key underlying concepts behind web 2.0, which strives to be both more collaborative and more dynamic.

BLOG

a blog is a type of website or part of a website. Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order

SOCIAL MEDIA

the best way to define social media is to break it down. Media is an instrument on communication, like a newspaper or a radio, so social media would be a social instrument of communication.

In Web 2.0 terms, this would be a website that doesn't just give you information, but interacts with you while giving you that information. This interaction can be as simple as asking for your comments or letting you vote on an article, or it can be as complex as Flixster recommending movies to you based on the ratings of other people with similar interests.

Think of regular media as a one-way street where you can read a newspaper or listen to a report on television, but you have very limited ability to give your thoughts on the matter.

Social media, on the other hand, is a two-way street that gives you the ability to communicate.Social media can take many different forms, including Internet forums, weblogs, social blogs, microblogging, wikis, podcasts, photographs or pictures, video, rating and social bookmarking.

Many of these social media services can be integrated via social network aggregation platforms.

mobile commerce (article)

last week en.harun teach us about chapter that including wireless technologies and the modern organization..in this chapter i have some basic from diploma subject such as subject mobile commerce, wireless and network security subject, actually i not much expert :P..

mobile commerce is the ability to conduct commerce using a mobile device, such as a mobile phone, a Personal digital assistant PDA, a smartphone, or other emerging mobile equipment such as dashtop mobile devices..mobile devices is very useful and lightweight people can access business such as the transaction money in banking online, buying ticket anywhere and anytime..in the textbooks mobile commerce is defined m-commerce refers to e-commerce transactions that are conducted in a wireless environment, especially via internet.. nowadays many company or organization do this, the advantages is to make customer easy to access their services or business using costumer own handheld..mobile device is not only a handset,PDA and smart phone, laptop,i pad, tablet pc..as it have a display screen,keyboard..

Mobile e-commerce (mobile commerce, m-commerce) is the process of conducting business activities related to(potential) business transactions through communications networks, especially the Internet, that interface with wireless (or mobile) devices.
•(Tarasewich, Nickerson, Warkentin)

History of m-commerce
Despite of huge popularity of mobile commerce, it is yet in the initial stage and can be further expand in to all the fields, which affect the human life. The assumption of mobile commerce is not so young as it mushroomed so early from adopting this technology.
It initially begins with the use of wireless POS (Point Of Sale) swipe terminals and has since then made its way into cellular phones and PDA's (Personal Digital Assistants). The first enabling m-commerce technologies were presented through Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and i-mode mobile Internet service. WAP builds on digital phone technology and first emerged on 2.5 G phone technology that allowed users to browse the Internet. This technology cemented the way of m-commerce, which has strongly developed on 3G-phone technology. Nokia has first introduced m-commerce application software Nokia toolkit version 4.0.
The future of m-Commerce seems extremely bright because several experiments are going on to introduce the upgraded version of mobile likely to emerged with the evolution of 4G mobile technology.

there have three parts of mobile commerce :
Three main parts
Mobile client (terminal)  M-commerce service (server)
              Wireless communications link

mobile commerce can (1) online access to stock information,(2) online access to account and (3) online trading

example of mobile commerce

nowadays, An increase number of shoppers are now making the decision to purchase via a mobile application..mobile application is related with mobile commerce..at the below is tips when planning your m-Commerce strategy and choosing amCommerce appliation provider :)

first point is Make it easy for customers to find you..when a customer is searching for you vi a search engine on their mobile make life easier for them by directing them straight to your mobile application or mobile website with the option to view the standard website..second is be consistent, shoppers on the internet want the same experience shopping on a mobile device.
third is user experience..mobile commerce is in its infancy now is the time to get the user experience bang on..then,security is essential..mCommerce is still a new concept therefore it is imperative that the customer has confidence to purchase using their phone..next is Product avalaibility is essential..if you dont have that product in stock you will lose that mobile shopper and lose that competitive edge..
next is navgation..it make it easy for the customer to find a product on a mobile device..then,search..it constrained by space search via keywords and navigatiob has to be perfect..and lastly, delivery rules..need to be the same on your mobile application as on your ecommerce solution

"mobile commerce is growing"

mobile commerce also have a limitation..

The path to success of mobile commerce is not so plain..Technical limitations of mobile devices and wireless communication and business concern complicates the business concern complicate the practical use for M-Commerce..Below are elaborated the challenges confronted by M-Commerce.
Scarcity of Killer Applications
A killer application is “an application that compels to buy to by a platform to use”. For instance, Internet is a killer application that requires you to by a PC for its use. Lack of such applications for M-Commerce is a big hurdle in its propagation.
User Distrust:
Due to the inherent vulnerability of wireless environment, users of m-Commerce are more concerned with security issues involved with mobile transaction. M-Commerce users need to be assured that their personal and financial information is secure.
Security Concern:
Wireless communication is more prone to security threats than wire communication. Although a number of wireless networks provide an intermediate security technology does not ensure transmission security in the network. In fact, the mobility enjoyed by m-Commerce also raises many more challenges in security tasks.
Mobile Devices:
Today, wireless devices include phones, handheld, laptops, palmtops or car tracking interfaces etc. Although mobile terminals demonstrate a greater mobility and flexibility they are found inferior in many ways as compared to PC’s. the screen is small, the interaction devices like keyboards or track balls make the use much more complicated, the battery time limits the use and access, etc. These drawbacks in mobile devices do not support many applications and transactions and consequently. Limit the propagation of M-Commerce.

in my opinion, mobile commerce is very interesting and will be expand in the future..its very useable and easy to use the application,we can follow the steps, and the good interface make me want to use the application..mobile commerce has many advantage which is reduce cost of transaction, mobile commerce is more personalized than e commerce..

An image (from Latin imago) is an artifact, for example a two-dimensional picture, that has a similar appearance to some subject—usually a physical object or a person.Images may be two-dimensional, such as a photograph, screen display, and as well as a three-dimensional, such as a statue or hologram. They may becaptured by optical devices—such as cameras, mirrors, lenses, telescopes, microscopes, etc. and natural objects and phenomena, such as the human eyeor water surfaces.
The word image is also used in the broader sense of any two-dimensional figure such as a map, a graph, a pie chart, or an abstract painting. In this wider sense, images can also be rendered manually, such as by drawing, painting, carving, rendered automatically by printing or computer graphics technology, ordeveloped by a combination of methods, especially in a pseudo-photograph.

A volatile image is one that exists only for a short period of time. This may be a reflection of an object by a mirror, a projection of a camera obscura, or a scene displayed on a cathode ray tube. A fixed image, also called a hard copy, is one that has been recorded on a material object, such as paper or textileby photography or digital processes.

A mental image exists in an individual's mind: something one remembers or imagines. The subject of an image need not be real; it may be an abstract concept, such as a graph, function, or "imaginary" entity. For example, Sigmund Freud claimed to have dreamed purely in aural-images of dialogs. The development of synthetic acoustic technologies and the creation of sound art have led to a consideration of the possibilities of a sound-image made up of irreducible phonic substance beyond linguistic or musicological analysis.

A still image is a single static image, as distinguished from a moving image (see below). This phrase is used in photography, visual media and the computer industry to emphasize that one is not talking about movies, or in very precise or pedantic technical writing such as a standard.

A film still is a photograph taken on the set of a movie or television program during production, used for promotional purposes
